Song Xi
Song Xi was born in 1983 in the daur district of qiqihar meiris, he now lives and works in Shanghai. In the process of depoliticization of body and consciousness, He explores the boundary of life form on the basis of politicization structure.

In 2019, Points Center for Contemporary Art cooperate with S.A.C, Thailand, to hold the artist exchange residency program. After the screening of S.A.C committees, we are pleased to announce that Song Xi stood out from many excellent candidates, selected for this residency program. The selected artist will be residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand from November 27, 2019 to January 20, 2020.
Song Xi, using a shamanic theoretical foundation rooted in animism, entered his creative process with the theme of “being ghosts, spirits, and superstitions” during his residency in Thailand. He brought a shamanic approach from his own northern culture to a foreign land, and sought similarities when this theory alongside local cultures, religions, and superstitions gave rise to conflicts.
Taking science as today's cognitive standard that theoretically allows people to produce “belief,” the combination of man and machine causes people to increasingly believe in themselves and continually assaults traditional views on ghosts and spirits. What effect will animism and its influence on life patterns produce?
